Nurturing Lives and Creating Hope
What We Achieved Together in 2024
In 2024, REACH Renton provided more than shelter — we built pathways to stability.
Through our Emergency Family Shelter and Meal Program, we walked alongside hundreds of families and individuals navigating hunger and houselessness. Our work was about more than a safe place to sleep or a hot meal to share — it was about creating spaces of dignity where people could breathe, belong, and begin imagining a different future.
At the shelter, parents found a secure place for their children to rest, and families received support to move toward housing and stability. At the Downtown Renton Library, volunteers served warm meals that brought housed and unhoused neighbors together, building community, reducing isolation, and offering hope one plate at a time.
Together, these efforts reminded us that when basic needs are met, the door opens to healing, connection, and lasting change.
Beyond Shelter
We know that safety is only the first step. Our shelter connects families and single women to wraparound support, from housing navigation to job resources, school enrollment assistance, and mental health referrals. These services help guests break the cycle of houselessness and move toward long-term stability.
Why This Matters
Houselessness impacts children and adults in profound ways, disrupting education, health, and emotional well-being. By offering not just a place to sleep but a community of care, we help guests build the foundation for a more secure future.

RMC meals served by city or county
At the Downtown Renton Library, Friday afternoons became a time of connection. In 2024, the Reach Meal Coalition served 846 meals, welcoming children, families, and single adults alike. With the support of our faithful volunteers each week, these meals became more than food on a plate, they were moments of safety, dignity, and belonging.
The library, a place open to all, offered a mutual space where housed and unhoused neighbors could sit side by side, share a meal, and feel seen. When hunger is eased, the mind has room to rest, to hope, and to imagine new possibilities.
Pop-Up Closet
Through our Pop-Up Closet in 2024, we supported over 300 individuals with access to clothing and basic necessities. The closet served both families and single adults experiencing houselessness, as well as households living paycheck to paycheck who needed extra support. More than just providing clothes, it offered dignity and choice, allowing people to select items that helped them feel comfortable, prepared for work or school, and confident in daily life. Thanks to the generosity of volunteers and donors, the Pop-Up Closet became a space of care and stability for our community.
